Do you remember NOKIA 6600 a Symbian based phone, although it's bulky,slow and ugly it made great reputation after launching in 2008.Actually first Symbian phone was NOKIA 7650 and after launching of some Symbian phones NOKIA became undisputed king of mobile phone market until launch of Android.The first Android phone was HTC Dream launched in 2008.
It's very interesting that in 2009 market share of android was only 3.9% in comparison of Nokia that was 46.9%,but after only 2 years in 2011 Android exceptionally grabbed 36.0% and Nokia is on 27.4%.
There are many reasons which are responsible for this downfall of Nokia so called Symbian.Attacking and well planned strategy of Android, poor management and late reaction of Nokia are two main reasons which can be given.
Here are few serious reasons which made Nokia a bigger looser......
1-Symbian OS is not so good for touchscreen phones.Today what we are using in Nokia touch screen devices is improvement form of Symbian OS,which is modified after launch of Android when Nokia saw it left so behind in race from Android...so you can think what condition of Nokia touchscreens phone was in 2008 when Android launched. So after launch of Android consumer rapidly shifted towards Android.
2- It's new ,does it good..?? Google maintained it's good reputation in market so consumer shifted towards Google-Android without hesitation of reliability.
3-It's new, let's try..!! Consumers are bored with same Symbian product so they want to try some new innovative and better and they found it in Android.
4-It seems Google do a deep study of Symbian phone before developing of Android. So they made Android more user friendly than Symbian so Android has some other advantages.
3rd party software availability is also better for Android user. Finding application for Android from Android market is easier and user friendly than for Nokia from OVI Store, also number of available software on Android is much more than that's of OVI Store.
5-Symbian for touch phone is used by only Nokia so there is limited numbers of handsets available but Android is adopted by some big players like Samsung, HTC, LG etc so handset availability is large and wide for Android so consumer prefer Android over Nokia.
6-They never beat us...Nokia's this mentality sunk Nokia. Poor management of Nokia reacted very late when Android reached on zenith of OS market. It's is same condition of Hare in "Tortoise and Hare" race.
7-Nokia management does't know what should do. First they launched MeeGo a new OS Linux based OS and also spend so much money in improvement of Symbian and after few days they collaborated with Microsoft for development of Windows phone and also announced end of production of Symbian devices completely.
And this collaborating news was last nail in coffin of Symbian. Because Nokia-Windows phone are not yet available and there are still some million Symbian phones which are planned to be shipped so what will consumer do ?? They simply buy Android or some other phone because due to end of production of Symbian neither there is new 3rd party software available nor any scope of future development of Symbian is left.
8-The biggest reason of big story of Android is that-Other phone companies like HTC,Samsung,LG,Dell don't have any particular OS for their phones, so they adopted Android very quickly and we got phone with good body and good brain, so they helped in boost success of Android.
Nokia downfall not only make Android happy it also increased market shares of iPhone and other OS players. Techies are curious what will happened when Nokia-Windows phone is launched .
WILL IT MEAN COMPLETE END OF NOKIA...???
